RG Artist in Residence Program

Are you an artist or maker in the Triad-Piedmont area eager to explore new ideas using repurposed materials? The RG Artist in Residence Program provides a unique three-week residency with time, space, and materials to fuel your creativity. You'll also lead an interactive community engagement workshop, exhibition, or performance. This is your chance to connect with the community, bring your vision to life, and make a meaningful impact.

BENEFITS
  • Cash stipend: $900 ($300 each week for three weeks)

  • In-store material stipend: up to $300

  • Dedicated space to work (during store hours)

  • One-on-one artist support 

  • Plenty of opportunities for community engagement and exposure

We welcome members of marginalized, underinvested, and underestimated communities, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, low-income, varying abilities, LGBTQIA+, and immigrant and refugee communities.

Artists accepted for this program must include a community engagement component.

Artists and makers in the Triad-Piedmont area with a history of creating and exhibiting art—whether in professional settings or more informal venues—are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have experience working with reclaimed, used, or found materials and a passion for community engagement and environmental awareness. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Artists will be contacted if selected for a residency. Reconsidered Goods hosts this program yearly in the Spring and Fall.
